Oh my goodness friends, I am beyond excited to share this FivePine Lodge wedding with you all today! Kristen and Trevor's wedding was my very first one of 2018 and it kicked wedding season off right!
FivePine is unbelievably gorgeous covered with fresh snow on the ground! I knew that Kristen was hoping for snow and I had been texting her about the weather report as soon as I saw the possibility of her wish coming true. I'm a bit of a weather fanatic and so I get really excited when the weather decides to do what I want it to do. And amazingly enough our last snow of the season (as long as we don't get a freak April snow) was the night before their wedding! MIRACLE!
Trevor and Kristen planned their Sisters, Oregon wedding from up near Portland, where they live. Portland doesn't tend to get a lot of snow, and when they do the whole city is a mess. But Sisters is a magical wonderland when it snows and the perfect destination wedding location.
Another thing that made this particular wedding special to me was that my husband got to be my second shooter for the first time! He has been training with me for close to a year and he finally got to be by my side for a whole day! There really is nothing better than serving a couple with your spouse. I teared up quite a few times because every wedding reminds me of my perfect day with my perfect man.
When Micah and I arrived (Venti Decaf Half-Sweet Caramel Latte in hand), we were warmly greeted by the mother of the bride, Tina. We knew it was going to be a flawless day as she introduced us to the rest of the bridal party. So much love and anticipation was buzzing in the bridal suite! Kristen was in the final moments of her hair and makeup when I got to meet her for the first time, and she was glowing!
Normally I get to meet my couples in person twice before their big day but we had some unusual circumstances. Our first "meeting" was over the phone which is fairly normal for couples who live outside of Central Oregon. But then our engagement session plans were thwarted at every turn! Funny enough it was snow that got in the way for the most part. I love the stuff but sometimes it makes travel virtually impossible. So I met Kristen and Trevor in person for the first time on their wedding day! But you know what, I felt like we were friends already just from our phone and messenger conversations!
Remember how I said we knew the day was going to be flawless? Micah and I were right. From our photographer viewpoints, every moment was perfection for Trevor and Kristen. The very apparent love of their friends and family. The snow and sunshine. The touching ceremony. And the awesome party that ended the evening. It was like a fairytale and I felt so blessed to get to be part of it.
Kristen and Trevor, thank you so much for allowing us to be part of your wedding day and capture your love for each other. I cannot wait to hear what you think of some of my favorite images! Enjoy!
