Kelsey and Jordan's wedding day was stunning from start to finish. Micah and I arrived at Aspen Lakes Golf Course to photograph details and getting ready while a snow flurry whipped around outside. The day before had been in the 60s but Kelsey had told me a while back that she wanted snow. So she got it! It didn't stick around for very long but was a beautiful start to the day.
I always feel right at home in the buzz of activity happening all over a wedding venue. Smiles are on every face and sometimes tears are too. Paying attention to that emotion and energy begins to create the unique foundation for all the photos to come. Moments between mother and daughter, laughter from the groom's friends, and excited chatter of bridesmaids all imprinted on my heart.
The ceremony was held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Bend, Oregon. It was my first time photographing there and the all stained glass made this photographer really happy! I also loved the flowers from The Posie Shoppe that added a delicate touch to the wooden pews and alter.
Before the ceremony began, Kelsey, along with her mother, grandmother, and godmother gathered in the chapel to pray. Words of deep love were spoken over Kelsey and Jordan's marriage, to strengthen and tighten their bond. There wasn't a dry eye in the room, including mine. Thank goodness I've figured out how to photograph through tears because it's basically a job requirement.
The rest of the day flew by in a whirl of photo sessions, pasta dinner, toasts, and dancing. The wind, clouds, and sun kept changing their minds on whether they were for or against us. So thank you to the whole wedding party and families for being such good sports! And thank you to Micah for almost becoming a kite while holding my reflector for a solid hour!
Jordan and Kelsey, I'm beyond excited for you to see this peek at your wedding! Thank you for trusting us to capture one of the most special moments in your life!
